Beaches – Penberry Bungalow is well situated for a number of fine local beaches. Pembrokeshire is rich in Blue Flag beaches and has more than any other county in the UK.
Whitesands Beach has lifeguards on duty but doesn’t allow dogs from May 1st until the end of October.
Traeth Llyfn, also known as Barry Island beach, is simply wonderful.
Abereiddy & the Blue Lagoon are well worth a trip and ideal for swimming, and dogs are allowed.
Caerfai Bay is a high-cliffed beach close to St Davids.
All are amazing for surfing bodyboarding, rock pooling or just a lovely stroll.
Castles, Historical buildings and Cathedral – History abounds in this part of Wales with its many chapels, churches, castles and historical ruins. A visit to Saint Davids Cathedral should not be missed. Built by the Normans on the site of a simple celtic church dedicated to our patron saint, Saint David, the present Cathedral is nearly 1,000 years old, welcoming pilgrims and travellers alike. Pope Callixtus II decreed during the 12th Century that two pilgrimages to St Davids was considered equal to one to Rome.
Within a short drive you are in easy reach of amazing castles at Pembroke, Manobier and Carew Castle with its tidal mill. Castell Henllys offers an Iron age fort reconstruction and is a fantastic family day out.

No trip to Pembrokeshire is complete until you have visited Dr Beynons Bug Farm.. With indoor and outdoor exhibits, it showcases the wonders of bugs and what they do for us.
Now the site is, quite literally, buzzing with activity! From the Tropical Bug Zoo to the Walled Garden, and from edible insect cuisine to interactive workshops: there is something for everyone at The Bug Farm.
